We are now seeing more and more sneak peeks about Windows 7.  But I have to wonder, outside of minor UI tweaks, additional hardware support, and another promise to ‘fix UAC’, what does Windows 7 have to offer more than just being a Vista service pack?

What Windows users should be upset about is Windows 7 still won’t come with everything that they promise Vista would come with (remember WinFS?).  Yet, now that Microsoft is inching closer, they’ve called it a new OS version which means you have to shell out more money to get not-even what they promised you Vista would be.

Meanwhile, the community-based OSs just fix and add functionality at an amazing pace.  Windows 7 just shows us more that Microsoft is losing touch with their user base.  They are greatly losing to linux on servers, desktops and laptops, look out.
